I hope Embolden Me will be ………………………
Humble:
I don’t think the blessings in my personal prayer life make me special in any way. In fact, the deeper I delve into prayer, the more I recognize just how wretched I can be. I believe the gifts, graces, and blessings of prayer are available to anyone willing to answer the Call. I hope what I write will be anything but haughty, and always compassionate.
Helpful:
I have been helped significantly along the way in my journey. Sr. Gertrude Anne and Sr. Agnes Marie have been wonderful Spiritual Advisers. Without them, I would not be who I am. I am currently undergoing formation to become a Secular Franciscan, and I can’t be thankful enough about how my fraternity, and my small group in particular, have supported me in my personal growth process.
Perhaps I can contribute in some small way to this ongoing work, and the Kingdom will come just a little closer as a result.
Kind:
One of the most disappointing things about current American life is the tone of our interaction. Kindness seems to be a lost value, while anger, aggression, and authoritarianism reign.
I pledge to be kind in what I write, and I also pledge that any less than kind comments will not be published here.
Broad:
Nothing would disappoint me more than for someone to visit here and feel like they are not welcome.
Francis did not find the path to Sainthood until he climbed down off his horse and embraced a leper. Only when he realized that God loves all men equally, none more or less than any other, did he begin to be transformed.
If this is done correctly, anyone who comes here should feel welcomed by God’s love.
Loving:
As you begin to read, it should come clear that I believe that the purpose of creation is the expansion of love. You will find this sentiment particularly strong when you read about love in The Transformation Wheel pathway.
If Embolden Me manages to add just a little bit to the net amount of love in the world, then I could consider it a success.
thank you for sending me this address. your truthfullness and humility, the Love for Our Lord is refreshing and most honorable. i struggle hourly with my cross Christ has entrusted to me, and having a brother close gives me strength. i saw something special in you from day one when i met you. a certain quiet humility. i will pray for your calling, and for you to stay on it’s path.
tony
Thank you, Tony, for your overly kind words, and thank you for your prayers.
If I possess a quiet humility, or something else that shows through, it is all gift, the product of asking for and receiving Grace on a regular basis.
I can not claim it as my own.
